I visited LV for fist time in 2005 for attending CONEXPO2005 and lived in Lady Luck for a week.
As a whole,it's a pleasant journey to me as a Chinese.I mean the clean room, kind waiters and convenient to see the Roof Show just a street away.....Although the casino is small, but it's funny and safe. I hit the top prize when the red light bell rang, I left the seat to see what happened because I do not know just to wait for waiters. A kind grandma beside remind me of just staying to be encashed........
The cost in LV is not high, as in China you need to pay 70-80$ for a 3-4 star hotel.
I love USA, the people and freedom......

Actually, it was August 25, 26, and 27th of 2004. We flew in from El Paso for my sons 21st birthday, arriving on the 25th, but him not turning 21 until the 26th...His girlfriend went along also, along with his older sister and boyfriend, making 3 couples staying at the hotel. Our room, although not luxurious, was comfortable, the air worked, and the room was large and clean, and the bed also comfortable. We were on the ground floor next to the Pool. It was quiet. The kids were down the hall, about 3 rooms, and our daughter was in the tower. She did not like her room, and insisted on being changed to a different room...they had paid more...had some problems, but she knows how to get what she wants, and did get another room but wasn't happy with that one either...however, the rest of us were satisfied...we weren't in Vegas to sleep!
We did not eat in the Hotel, my daughter's boyfriend ordered in one of the restaurants, and said it was horrible and did't eat! However, we did locate the Donut shop in the back room of the Lady Luck Casino, and we would get Coffee and Donuts each morning, take it to my sons room and get them up and start our day! The coffee was good and fresh, as were the donuts, and I think we spent an average of $3.00 to $7.00 on Donuts and Coffee for 4! The gambling was good at the Casino, slots paid off, and my son did well on the Craps table. I had brought $82 gold dollars with me thinking there would be a place to play them, and there wasn't, and the desk wasn't real happy when I cashed them in! But I just thought it was funny! (This was my first trip to Vegas! and I was fulfilling a promise that I had made to my son at the age of 7, that when he turned 21 we would go to Vegas!) I think for the most part we played nights at the Lady Luck, and my only complaint was that if the Hoppers were paying the Jackpots, you always had to wait for an attendant, and in the early hours of the morning, they were few and far between....I made the best of the trip, usually getting in between 4 and 5:30 am...and was back out by 7:00 as a rule!
We all had a great time! Ate Ribs at Tony"s, but don't get the Lobster there, it's only a bite! Our favorite Restaurant turned out to be at the Golden Gate, Prime Rib @ $6.95 and they started serving at noon, I told my husband I was going to have Prime Rib for Breakfast and Dinner every day! WE are going to Vegas October 11-15 this year, and I was disappointed that we cannot stay at the Lady Luck again....this time we are going to the Plaza...we like staying downtown, I stay up late, and like to be close to the hotel room when I get tired, and not have to depend on transportation to get me there....I have read so many bad and good reviews, that I am just hoping for the best..After our stay I will try to write an honest review...Rooms are not that important to me, but Hot water, a working toilet, a comfortable, clean bed, and Heat and Air are..Fancy bathroom fixtures, and furniture I don't care to pay for...my daughter on the other hand.....she likes to pay for that! As for The Lady Luck, I hope she will open again, I am truly disappointed that she closed her door's......and I can't return to her on this trip...but the Plaza is waiting, and I do remember that I did ok at her slots before!

We have been visiting Lady Luck for many years and our favorite part of many of the visits were the slot tournaments and the festivities at the end of the competition. We look forward to the new Lady Luck. We have to say that the rooms were clean but needed repairs and up dating. We found the help very friendly over all. We last visited just before the casino was closed and we can understand some of the employees were not too happy about losing their jobs. I can't say that I blame them. Thank you Lady luck for all the fun. However, we usually lost money, but never more than we planned to lose. We had fun even when we lost. There were some good days when we were ahead of the game. We are looking forward to the re-opening and more slot tournaments, so hurry up and get the job done.

HORRIBLE!
Over half of the staff has been fired and the other half did not want to work.
The rooms were moldy, broken, towelless, soapless, TPless, dirty - dirty - dirty.

They turned off the slots on New Years and only had 4 tables open... what a joke!

They ran out of beer on new years! Food wasn't fit for animal consumption. The store was closed. Our entire experience was horrible.

I asked the pit boss if the cards and chips would still be good after the remodel and she cursed at me and me told me "I don't know and I don't F*&king care!"

We were leary of the Lady Luck as I have been on the Internet reading the reviews. They were saying nasty things. But low and behold our friends, who we wanted to stay by talked us into staying here. We like the downtown area.It is close to the Freemont Experience. Just a blockaway. We booked on Hotels.com. We had booked a garden room that when we checked in were told that they were updating them but it sure didn't look like it. THEN DO IT!! So we all were put in the West Wing up in the 17th floor. That's way FAR from the garden!!I was very NOT IMPRESSED with our room as when we got in there. The bathroom was SPACIOUS but NOT CLEAN as the bathtub was as if a 500# person sat in the jacuzzi and cracked it so we couldn't even take a bath as would of fallen into the floor below. Shower curtain was Moldy! Leaky faucet in bathroom.Carpet was Nasty as was CRUSTY at the edges.NOISY ROOM as we were put Next to the Elevator.Gambling there was OK. TOO SMOKEYin the CASINO!! Was comped for 2 breakfast buffets which would of started at 7 am but we had to leave for airport at 4am. So useless to us. Couldn't get a refund for the ROTTEN ROOM.Wanted a Coffee Pot and or Iron/Ironing Board but wasn't in our room. The only good point was that it was close to the Transit Center if taking the bus to the Strip. WE WON'T BE BACK!! LADY LUCK is Ok if You don't care about rotten rooms!!!

I have been staying at the Lady Luck on and off for years. I have seen the service decline steadily over
the past 7 years until now. Yes the Lady is old and tacky but she is still a great little place to stay. There
is a new management company that has taken over and they have already started fixing up the
buildings across the street. There are new restuarants and clubs. Triple George opened in July. Very
good food. Once the new owners have finished across the street they are to start updating Lady. She
needs it. The buffet is the only restaurant that was open and although I haven't always liked the
breakfast I did eat there this trip and the food was pretty good. If you are planning a stay ask for a
room in the East tower. It is closer than the long walk from the West.
The casino is small and in need of updating but if you like a good cheap Craps game then this is the
place. The day shift bartenders are great and very freindly and love to chat. The machines were pretty
tight. I didn't see one big hit on any of the machines but a lady won over a million dollars there in June
playing the $1 Wheel of Fortune. Good luck.

1. The beds (boxsprings)were so worn that the bed slanted to one side.
2. The curtain was hanging off the curtain rods.
3. Called to complain about the curtain, was told by front desk agent that maintenance was on there way, NO ONE SHOWED.
4. Stains on the carpets and box springs/mattresses.
5. Housekeeping failed to vacuum the rooms for the first 2 days of my stay.
6. Carpets/wallpaper peeling.

We were in a large group with 8 rooms and everyone had the same problems with worn beds, filthy carpets.

Some of the Craps table dealers were just learning it seemed.. at least I hope thats all it was because I had to remind the guy to PAY ME when I won a few times. I will NEVER gamble or patronize this casino again. Also quite an extra bounce in the center (at the end) of the craps table. Dumpy place.. and I am not a strip player..but this place was especially nasty all around. Drink server was MIA most of the time (I was only drinking non-alcoholic drinks and tipping well.. btw.) Buyer beware. Shady suspicions.. to say the least. Was there 6/25/05 to gamble.

I am coming back to LV in August and, low and behold, I will have a Limo waiting to bring me to the Lady Luck!! We were all comped dinner at the Burgundy room, very good food. I hope that my experience staying at the hotel is as good as my experience playing in the casino!!

We booked a room 2 months in advance and paid for a NON SMOKING ROOM because i have ashtma .I called the Hotel right after to make sure they booked a non smoking room for me.When we arrived on 4/29/05 @ 3.00pm to sign in the lady at the desk said we did not have a non smoking room for me and they are first come first serve.I was not told that prior. If we would have known that, we would have went some place else to stay but all rooms were booked due to the wynn grand opening. The lady at the desk told me to come to the desk in the morning to see if we could get a non smoking room. That night i couldnt sleep because i have problems breathing due to the smell in our room(cigar smell) I had called the desk @ 10 pm to have house keeping get me 2 extra pillows to prop me up in bed.half hr later and still no pillows.I called again and they said the housekeeper was behind and will be up to give me pillows in 10 mins.STILL, another half hr went by i called AGAIN.......finally after i got upset on the phone i got my pillows and that was 2 hrs later. When i answered the door the housekeeper was rude and i had no problem teliing her so.The next morning i went to the front desk to ask for a non smoking room and they told me there were no non smoking rooms available.I was very dissapointed in out room and the service. We were there for a wedding and my in- laws are in LV all the time.they were here in this hotel w/ us and they were un happy with the service as well.I nor, my family will be back in your hotel.I feel your employees need classes on customer relations. When we checked out, we were never ask how our stay was......I find that very strange!!!!!

This is a great hotel to say at if you don't need fancy decor and are on a budget. The rates are reasonable and I found all the hotel staff to be nice and helpful. I go to Vegas to gamble and see the sights, not to sit in my hotel room, so who cares what it looks like. It's clean, comfortable and cheap. The casino seems to be better than ones on the strip; the first night I was there I hit a jackpot on quarter machine. I'm going back in August and will keep staying there as long as the price stays reasonable.

Was a little worried about staying here as the price was so good, but it is a 2 and a half star and it was more than adequate for our needs. Let's face it in Vegas how much time do you really spend in a room. It was an older hotel but it was clean. We were upgraded to a tower room without asking. The room was bigger than the garden room. On reading some of the reviews some people must be expecting a 5 star hotel. It was fine and I would be more than happy to stay there next time we are in Vegas. I left my car keys in the room and nobody could find them. I called a couple of times from Canada and eventually spoke to Evelyn in housekeeping who took my phone #. She called me 10 minutes later to say that she had found them. I was very happy to get them back.

What a great place to stay. Have always stayed on the "strip". But wanted to try something different this time. Plus, my dad recommended the place. Anyway, I really don't have anything but kind words regarding me and my wifes stay at the Lady Luck. The rooms were clean and the rates were very reasonable. Neither my wife or I like to drive in that kind of traffic. But we don't want to spend a fortune on cab fares either. And with the main bus terminal being right behind the Lady Luck, you couldn't ask for a more convenient spot for us to stay. We got the 24 hour passes for $5.00 (which you get right from the driver as you get on the bus). And can take the bus as many times as you want in that 24 hour period. Otherwise it's $2.00 a person each time you get on the bus. Even that is way cheaper than a cab!!!In case anyone wants to know, you want to get on the 301 to go to the strip. You can even take the bus back to the airport if you want. I don't think we will ever stay on the strip again. We are already thinking about our next trip, and will go back to the Lady Luck for sure. I also made almost a $1000.00 on the slots!!! If anyone thinks these ratings guides are a scam, feel free to call me at (906)-474-6918 and ask for Kevin Lee...
P.S.
Please call between 9:00 Am and 9:00 PM as I'm not in Vegas anymore, and will now be sleeping again!!!

The hotel was a great disappointment. The rooms were dirty and smelled like mildew. The wallpaper was coming loose from the walls, the windows were so dirty you could not see out of them. Carpets were stained and well past there useful life. The furniture was 1950's vintage dormitory style. To get a clean room, we had to pay an upgrade fee. The service was not polite considering they are in the "service business" and rely on reputation and return visits.

The only positive benefits are the close proximity to Fremont Street, and the in house buffet.

Use this hotel as a last resort only.

Hello all, stayed at Lady Luck 2 nights, 2/24 - 2/26....had know problem checking in, had used the internet rate special.....total for Thur and Fri night was 105. Had reserved a tower non smoking king. The room was fine, did not smell like smoke, it was a little bland, but for the rate was fine. Bed was decent, and the water pressure good and plenty of hot water.
The only negitive was the A/C.....wasn't that cool....had to leave it on hi while I was out all day/night, to get the room comfortable to sleep in.

Casino started out unlucky....slots and 21......but at 4am, the 21 table was smoking, and I left both nights with decent winnings.

Overall......I wanted to be downtown to gamble and enjoy the smaller casino feeling. I was only there for 2 nights and didn't want to spend alot on a room. The Lady Luck suited me fine, and had a great trip. Other casinos were visited, and the Plaza was by far the best place to gamble.

I'd stay there again.

I went to the lady for a cheap breakfast. I HAD A COMP THAT EXPIRED 1 MONTH AGO-YOU GUESSED IT-NO LONGER VALID. thats what i got full price nasty!!!!!!! didnt stay at the hotel. buffet is only for the starving with no money. HERE IS THE DEAL TO THINK ABOUT. I ORDERED ICED TEA (ok im from the south) THE LAZY SERVER GAVE ME A GLASS OF WATER WITH A LEMON WEDGE. the fully dirty table next to me went un-bussed all the time i was there to eat-nice HUH! the good news is:

the casino people were great. i took my breakfast price plus plus back at the tables. stay away from the TIGHT SLOTS. they do give a nice coffee cup when you register for their players card.

conclusion: dont stay without a comp. eat elsewhere. play is ok!

my daughter and i go to vegas twice a year. this was our first time downtown. It's all about customer service and lady luck excels. I am not a table player but when the floor manager knows your name and the girls at the rewards booth can't do enough for you that's a 10 in my book. The rooms were clean, housekeeping addressed my need within 5 mins. The breakfast buffet was fair, a late dinner upon arrival in the cafe was great, shrimp cocktail was very fresh and well chilled and the prime rib french dip was awesome what more could you want. I liked the small casino atmosphere it was cozy and bar service was first rate as was the staff who kept cleaning off the machines. Yes lady luck is a little tired and worse for wear but what they do do they do well.

The room was VERY clean and the service was GREAT. The maids were VERY VERY kind and went out of there way to help me. The front desk was very well staffed and could handel the flow of check ins and outs very quick. The parking attendents were very swift and made me feel as if I was someone of great value to them. The grounds were very well kept as was the inside of the casino. It sits downtown and is away from the noise but you can walk to freemont st in less then a min. the area was not of one that I felt danger from . In my six day stay here I saw no drunks or any trouble of any kind. the bell man was to my room within ten mins of my call and was very polite. You can go pay hundreds of dollars to stay up on the strip but why? All you need is a clean bed and a hot shower and for the price at the Lady luck you get your moneys worth plus a lot more I will stay here on my next trip 10 04

I have stayed at this property 3 times and I found this visit to be the best. The refurbished rooms are excellent, there is a coffee maker, iron and board, frig and hair dryer. I was in the east tower with a view of the 15 freeway and the mountains. The staff responded to my recquests promptly. I wouldn't eat there as the food in the coffe shop is dreadful.
The casino is small but friendly with deceant rules. I have always had a pleasant stay at this hotel

Last April My husband and I came to LV for the first time and we got reservations on the net for lady luck, at the time there were not alot of hotels with availibility. We booked a tower room and when we got to our room it was the garden rooms. Stayed at the garden room for 2 nights. Then at one point I was talking to a casino host, I told the host I was really disappointed in our room, he upgraded (free) to a jr suite in the tower and gave us a dinner at the burgundy room (comped)They treated us great, the slots were pretty good too and the food was good-- BURGUNDY ROOM was great..Needless to say we are returning in april again. I called up and they comped our rooms for 4 nights and my husband is going to a golf course with the casino. We prefer downtown to the strip- the strip casinos are so huge I would spend too much time getting unlost.Lady luck is great and I can find the bathrooms in a minute.

I have stayed at this hotel about 4 times. The re-furbished rooms are large and excellent. Even the older rooms are ok. The breakfast buffet is too expense
for what little they offer. The Casino people were friendly and so were the
check in ladies. It is about one block walk to the Fremont Street Experience Show...the neighborhood does not give you a feeling of safety. But, once at the Fremont Street covered promonade, it is very friendly and safe. It is a good
buy for the money. Parking is across the street in a covered parking structure.
